How do I rent a charter bus?

Booking your DC bus rental starts with getting a no-obligation quote from one of our rental team members. We`ll need your trip details to generate your quote and can work with you to create a personalized travel plan.

 

When should I book my charter bus?

Washington DC is an exceptionally busy travel destination, which means that charter buses are often in high demand for group tours and special events. For groups traveling during peak travel seasons like spring, summer, or major holidays, you should book as far in advance as possible. We recommend renting your bus at least 6 months in advance. If you`re traveling during the off-season, consider renting your charter bus at least 3 months in advance.

 

Where can I go in my charter bus rental?

DC Charter Bus Company services the entire metro area, including nearby cities like Alexandria, Arlington, and Virginia Beach. We may also be able to service groups traveling long-distance outside of the DC metro area. Ask your reservation expert about what transportation options are available outside of Washington DC.

 

Do I need to find parking for my charter bus?

It is your responsibility to find parking for your charter bus. Your dedicated rental representative may be able to help you find parking in DC, but it is up to your group to reserve and pay for parking. You will also need to secure overnight parking for your bus for multi-day trips.

 

Is there a minimum and maximum rental time?

There is a 5-hour rental minimum for each trip. We do not have rental maximums and can work with organizing logistics for long-distance or long-term rentals.

 

How do I make changes to my trip?

Changes to your trip can be made anytime by calling us at 202-903-0059.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your trip at any time by calling our 24/7 rental team. Trips that are canceled at least 14 days before the travel date may be refunded the cost of the trip but lose their deposit. Unfortunately, trips that are canceled less than 14 days in advance will not be refunded.

How much does a charter bus cost?

DC charter bus rental prices vary from trip to trip. The easiest way to get an accurate idea of how much your charter bus rental will cost is by calling our team for a free quote.

 

Do I need to provide a deposit?

A 30% deposit is required to reserve your charter bus. The full balance of your bill must be paid 30 days before the start of your trip.

 

What is included in my bus rental cost?

Your rental quote will be inclusive of your hourly/daily bus cost, bus mileage, driver`s pay, insurance, and fuel. Your rental quote will not include fees like parking, tolls, driver`s tip, and accommodations for your driver.

 

Drivers

Can I drive my charter bus?

No, only your assigned and trained driver will be allowed to operate your charter bus. No exceptions are allowed, even if you have a CDL license.

 

Do I need to pay for my driver`s food and drinks?

Your driver will have their food and drinks covered. If you bring food onboard, your driver may appreciate a few snacks though.

Do I need to pay for my driver`s hotel?

If you have an overnight trip, you`ll need to book a hotel room for your charter bus driver. Your driver is required to rest at least 8 hours for every 10 hours of driving. Some hotels may offer group hotel block discounts and you can easily add a room to your lodging for your driver. Just make sure your driver has a clean and comfortable room so they`re well-rested for your trip.

 

Do I need to tip my driver?

Tipping is not required but it is highly recommended and always appreciated. We recommend tipping your driver 10-20% to show them how much you appreciate their service and hard work.

What types of charter buses can I rent in Washington DC?

The DC Charter Bus Companynetwork includes a variety of bus models, including everything from 18-passenger minibuses for private tours to 56-passenger charter bus rentals for school field trips. 

 

Can I rent a party bus in DC?

At this time, we do not offer party bus rentals. If you`re planning a night out or have a special event like a bachelorette party, one of our rental experts can find a comfortable minibus to suit your travel needs.

 

What amenities are included in my charter bus rental?

Amenities will vary depending on the type of bus you rent. Most full-size charter buses can include amenities like WiFi, USB and power outlets, TVs with DVD players, reclining seats, and onboard restrooms. Minibuses can also include all of these amenities except onboard restrooms. If there are specific amenities that you`ll need, be sure to request them.

 

Do you offer ADA-accessible charter bus rentals?

Yes, we offer ADA-accessible bus rentals with features like additional hand railing and wheelchair lifts. When you call to book your bus, let your reservation expert know what accessibility features are needed to keep every passenger comfortable.

 

Do you offer executive bus rentals?

If you have a group of executives or VIPs in DC for a business conference, meeting, or corporate lunch—DC Charter Bus Company has upscale transportation options for your group of professionals. Ask your rental representative about what upscale buses are available for your DC business event.

 

Can I drink alcoholic beverages onboard my bus?

Drinking alcohol may be permitted on your bus with prior approval. Notify your rental expert ahead of time that you would like to drink onboard your bus.

Do I need to clean my charter bus after my trip?

Please be sure to clean up after your trip. If a mess is left on the bus, your group may be charged up to $250 in cleaning fees.
